### Job Description
Position Purpose:
Manages and directs the activities of the engineering department to design, process, project, and develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services. Serves as a resource on projects requiring advanced knowledge.
Responsibilities:
1. Manages the Applications and Design departments within the Business unit in the performance of their duties which include :-
The preparation of quotations in a timely manner to meet customer expectations
Following up quotations with the relevant Sales Managers to lend support as appropriate
Monitoring trends within the market place to identify opportunities for development of new products and/or customers
Ensuring the ratings programs are maintained and the data within them is accurate
Preparation of drawings and detailed proposals in order to obtain new contracts
Preparation of manufacturing drawings in a timely manner to match demand
Ensuring designs are within the scope of production machinery and capability
1. Maintain good communication within the management team both locally and globally to synergize and harmonize specifically engineering activities but also within other management disciplines.
2. Develop an in depth knowledge of the capabilities of company products and heat transfer surfaces
3. Support and manage post award activities to ensure products meet the customer's functional requirements. Interfaces with Quality, Sales and Operations managers on design, development, production, supplier, internal audit and other issues. Guides the successful completion of projects.
4. Onsite customer technical sales support and on-site cooling test support. Provide direction regarding the development of solutions to complex technical problems
5. Provides planning, direction, and coordination for all technical activities while achieving optimum use of employees, equipment, materials, and facilities.
6. Continually driving team for efficiencies and improved accuracy. Recruiting, hiring, review of employees. Provides functional guidance and leadership for the team.
Travel:
Domestic and international travel required.
### Skills/Requirements
Education and
Experience:
1. BS degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of Application or related experience in the field of Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat transfer, Diesel Engines is required.
2. 7 years' experience required in a similar engineering environment required.
3. Prior experience managing a team required.
4. Working knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) required,
