Safety Intern
OverviewThe Safety Associate will help alongside the Regional Safety Specialists to promote a safety culture among all company coworkers.
This position will involve traveling to different regions and operations to gain insight on safety in the ready-mix industry.
Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:
Interface with Operations management on a regular basis to ensure safety compliance and buy-in Attend scheduled meetings to ensure safety presence Participate in investigations of all near misses, incidents, and injuries in coordination with company and state regulations,report findings to leadership Be an advocate for safety Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by managementGlobal
Responsibilities:
Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meetbusiness needs
Qualifications:
Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required Preferably a 3rd or 4th year of completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Civil or MechanicalEngineering, or Environmental ManagementSkills/Abilities:
Strong and effective communication skills in person, phone, and via email Strong time and project management skills Ability to collaborate and work well with people throughout all levels of the company Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, detail oriented, and well organized Ability to prioritize and quickly respond to challenges under tight deadlines and work well under pressureWorking Conditions:
Operates within a professional office environment, as well as at job sites which includes some exposure to extremes intemperature, moisture, dust, and noise Regularly works outdoors in all weather and ground conditions Routine usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets Driving to your assigned territory and visiting job sitesPhysical Requirements:
