us/ Position Details Position Start Date 8/14/2023 Terms/Schedule 12 months Appointment Type Full Time Description The Athletics and Activities Director will continue to build upon our successes and grow opportunities for students beyond the classroom.
The ideal candidate will be a visionary and inspiring leader who will seek to further establish Franklin Athletics and Activities as highly competitive and enriching.
The Athletics and Activities Director will be a leader in and builder of community and culture who sees co-curriculars as diverse opportunities to become college, career, and life ready, extend the classroom, and compete at the highest level.
Qualifications:
Required - Masters in Educational Leadership, Sports Management or related field.
- Experience as an educator, coach, and/or supervisor.
- Demonstrated high level of organizational, leadership, interpersonal, public relations skills.
-Demonstrated high levels of supervisory and management skills including development and controlling a budget.
-Demonstrated understanding of the developmental differences between high school and middle schools students Desired - Experience with athletic and facilities scheduling and management.
- Such alternatives to the above required and desired qualifications as the district may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Active membership in and certification from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
General Administration - Select, assign, evaluate, and provide leadership to coaches, advisors, and other staff members.
- Assume responsibility for the organization and scheduling of all activities/athletics in the middle school and high school and in conjunction with the conference and state guidelines.
- Continue to build and sustain campus culture.
Hold meetings with Athletic & Activity Council students.
- Arrange transportation for all away co-curricular functions.
- Develop appropriate rules and regulations governing the conduct of all co-curricular activities.
- Investigate and resolve reported code violations; and provide the mechanism for appeals of such investigations.
- Counsel students on code violations and study table related issues; oversee management of study table.
- Establish academic requirements of eligibility for participation in all activities/athletics and verify each participant's eligibility.
- Arrange all details of visiting participants' needs for locker facilities and provide other assistance as appropriate.
- Hire officials, police officers, and ambulance rescue squad as needed for events and assume general responsibility for the proper supervision of activities/athletics - scheduled at home.
- Act as a liaison for the high school conference, the middle school conference, and the WIAA.
- Keep records of the results of contests and maintain a record of participation for determination of appropriate awards and recognition.
- Publish staff handbook and meet with coaches and advisors to review policies and other necessary conditions for the total operation of the co-curricular program.
- Work with athletic trainer to coordinate optimal schedule for events - Coordinate any after school activities.
- Maintain up-to-date media channels promoting athletics and activities website and send out weekly newsletter - Monitor and mandate AED, CPR, First Aid certification course, WIAA rules exam, Concussion Management Plan, Emergency Action Plan, DPI mandatory reporting and district mandatory topic program for ALL staff.
- Serve as a member of Safety Committee.
- Maintain up-to-date records on participant fees, WIAA physical or alternate year cards, concussion release forms, emergency forms and code cards for all students - involved in co-curricular activities (Administer the insurance program covering co-curricular activities and assume responsibility for all processing of reports and claims) Fiscal and Facility - Schedule field and building practice times.
- Prepare and administer the co-curricular budget.
- Requisition program supplies, equipment and uniforms.
- Supervise all ticket sales and fund-raising events of the co-curricular programs and assume responsibility for the proper handling of funds according to standard - accounting practices.
- Manage equipment and apparel and administer policies for the proper handling, issuing, collecting, cleaning, etc.
- Solicit, assign and approve pay for all home contest workers and officials.
Community/School Relations - Publish and distribute an co-curricular calendar.
- Foster good school/community relations by keeping the community aware of the athletics/activities programs.
- Prepare individual contest or performance programs.
- Plan and supervise appropriate recognition programs for school and co-curriculars.
- Solicit a student and parent advisory committee for activities/athletics.
- Contribute to a positive relationship with all parent booster clubs.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
