BASIC FUNCTION: Accountable for understanding business/functional specifications, completing analysis, partnering with Architecture to determine design, and delivering the development of quality applications/systems. Accountable for installation, testing and maintenance of applications/systems, configuring, troubleshooting and tuning business applications in support of service management. Accountable for assessing the impact of change on applications/systems to support and maintain performance and availability.
Additional Information: This is a position on the Annuity Application Support team, and involves supporting and delivery of Annuity online applications, with a primary focus on the Annuity portion of Service Request Center (SRC) application. This role will provide support and development for the entire solution for online applications, which includes front end java/.C#/VB/NET components, back end mainframe logic, as well as integration with multiple services. This role will periodically participate in Scrum development. There is an expectation that the candidate will be strong enough to play other roles (business analyst, testing, etc.) as needed in a high paced Scrum environment.
This role is responsible for design and development of new functionality, quickly resolving incidents, identifying and addressing the root cause of issues, in order to meet application availability and performance expectations for multiple applications. This will involve partnering with the various teams involved in supporting enterprise applications to ensure incidents and problems are prioritized appropriately and addressed in a timely manner to minimize business impact. It will also involve partnering with multiple teams to ensure that design, development, and testing of new functionality aligns with the overall application platform.
Strong development, backend services and strong MQ services knowledge is required. Knowledge of mainframe (PLI, C#, JCL, etc.) is required. Knowledge of agile techniques and Scrum development is a plus.
A P3 will be considered depending on the strength of the candidate.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Minimum 3 years experience in application integration and development. Strong technical aptitude and ability to logically analyze and creatively solve complex issues independently. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written to multiple levels of the organization. Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with immediate team members, other IS areas, and clients in other departments. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
